Frederick Law Olmstead’s Time in California

I’ve been enjoying Witold Rybczynski’s A Clearing In The Distance: Frederick Law Olmsted and America in the 19th Century. Olmstead interacted with many of the major characters during the post-Gold Rush era in California. I will be focusing on Galen Clark with a forthcoming episode about Yosemite and Big Trees. There are also great sections about his time running the Mariposa gold mining company. A great read and recommended
