I’ve been reading The Darkness Manifesto by Johan Eklöf, and the most startlingly piece of evidence is the dramatic decrease in insect life as a result of light pollution, disrupting their reproduction patterns and pulling them along to their death. Obviously, we can’t predict what the ultimate consequence of dramatic insect loss will do to the environment, beyond the obvious loss of pollinators. It just can’t be good.
